Motivation in unusual places....

Most people would think that a snowy day that causes one to work from home would be a "work from home" day that included hot chocolate, Maury, and a nap. The term work is a loose one that often involves checking work emails throughout the day and not much else.

Today was my work from home day. And today was the most productive day I have had all week.

Honestly, I think I am MORE distracted in the office because it is tooooo quiet, which causes me to seek out distractions. Also, I hear folks in the office mention other projects which either cause me to check in on those projects also (taking me away from whatever I was working on), or chime into the conversations because I love to chat. Either way, it takes me away from my work. Today, with the constant, built-in distraction of a TV in the background, I was able to get sooooo much done, and I feel really good about it. I was able to complete a few projects, do some solid writing for work, and just check things off the to-do list that have been hovering on the list for many days. What a great feeling.

I love days that are super productive and I really feel like I accomplish something. I love it even more that I am able to have days like this while sitting on my couch in comfy pants and catching up on my DVR list.

I wish I could work from home EVERY day!
