Honeymoon - Day 4

After learning how early the sun comes up in full force in Belize, we thought ahead and closed all the blinds and curtains before going to sleep so that we were able to sleep late in the morning... all the way til 9am! We recently learned that there was a tropical depression somewhere in the Caribbean, so it was no surprise to wake to a rainy day.

We bummed around the condo for a bit, having breakfast, watching movies, working on 'thank you' cards, and generally being bums. The weather started to clear, so we headed out to do a little more grocery shopping before going back to hang out at the pool. At some point during the afternoon, we spoke to the Director of the resort and he informed us that the little tropical depression in the Caribbean had turned into a tropical storm with 65 mph winds that was supposed to hit Belize directly. SWEET! We don't get that kind of weather in New York!

We decided to go to Caliente's for dinner to take advantage of their taco night and 1/2 price margarita special. This was an excellent idea. We each had three big, yummy margaritas to help us wash down the shrimp tacos, beef tacos, and chicken quesadillas. During the meal, all hell broke loose outside, and we watched out the window as some of the hardest rainfall we've ever seen pounded the beach. It was a pretty amazing sight. Before too long, there was a little break in the action, so we ducked out and headed to Lola's Pub to grab a Belikin and see our friend Anna. We sat next to a lovely gentleman who lived in San Pedro, but was originally from Dublin. He didn't stay long, but apparently took a fancy to us, and bought us drinks before he left. We never had the chance to express our gratitude, since he left so quickly, so "Thank you, lovely Irish fellow!"

It turns out we didn't want to stay too late either. We were asleep by 10pm.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHAEL! (my big bro)
